Club Dues for the year are $200. These can be paid $100 each semester. First practice is $20 for people that want to try the shooting for one time before deciding to join. This $20 covers your insurance fee for you to shoot with the team. The $20 is counted towards your club fee if you decide to join i.e. if you pay the $20 your first practice, you owe $55 for the next.
Club dues cover all practice targets and ammo for the whole year. If funds are available, the order of what the club pays is as follows, entry fees, travel, food money.
We are a shotgun only team and participate in Sporting Clays, Super Sporting, 5-Stand, American Skeet and Trap, International Skeet, and Bunker Trap.
Official practices are held every other Sunday at Ben Avery Clay Target Center. If funds allow, additional team practices are held in between these practices. Given that practice is held only 2 times a month usually, the students that get named to the varsity team generally shoot on their own time and money. In seasons past, the average varsity shooter shot a minimum once a week.
The club is based into 3 different levels, Varsity, JV, and recreational.
Varsity is the team that represents the Gun Devils at all in state and out of state competitions. Requirements to make varsity are based on talent, character, and dedication to the team.
JV is the team for shooters that represent the Gun Devils at all in state tournaments and are brought up as needed to fill spots on the varsity team.
Recreational is for students that just want to go out and have fun shooting clay targets in a non competition setting.
